The Salt Lake Bees are a Minor League Baseball team of the Triple-A West and the Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels. They are located in Salt Lake City, Utah, and play their home games at Smith's Ballpark. The Tacoma Rainiers are a Minor League Baseball team of the Triple-A West and the Triple-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners. They are located in Tacoma, Washington, and play their home games at Cheney Stadium, which opened in 1960. Tacoma competed in the Pacific Coast League (PCL) from 1960 to 2020 before joing the Triple-A West as a part of Major League Baseball's restructuring of Minor League Baseball in 2021. They operated under several monikers before becoming the Rainiers in 1995. They won the PCL championship five times (1961, 1969, 1978, 2001, and 2010).

Pacific Coast League

The Triple-A West is a 10-team Minor League Baseball league that began operating in the United States in 2021. Along with the Triple-A East, it is one of two leagues playing at the Triple-A level, which is one grade below Major League Baseball (MLB). The league was created in 2021 in conjunction with MLB's reorganization of the minor leagues. The league is made up of nine teams formerly of the Pacific Coast League and one from the independent Atlantic League of Professional Baseball.
