Portland Timbers 2 is an American professional soccer team based in Portland, Oregon. Portland Timbers 2, often referred to as "T2", serves as the reserve squad for the Portland Timbers of Major League Soccer (MLS). The team was a member of the USL Championship from 2015 to 2019, and was in the second tier of the United States soccer pyramid beginning in 2016. The organization withdrew from the 2021 USL Championship season so it could better transfer players to its parent club during the COVID-19 pandemic.

San Jose Earthquakes II is an American professional soccer team that is located in Moraga, California. It is the reserve team of San Jose Earthquakes and participates in MLS Next Pro. On December 6, 2021, the San Jose Earthquakes were named as one of 21 clubs that would field a team in the new MLS Next Pro league beginning in the 2022 season. On March 11, 2024, the Earthquakes announced that "commercial operations" of their MLS Next Pro team would be taken over by the East Bay-based The Town Group. MLS Next Pro is a men's professional soccer league in the United States and Canada that is affiliated with Major League Soccer. It launched in 2022 with 21 teams, of which 20 are reserve sides for MLS clubs and the independent Rochester New York FC. The league is classified as part of the third tier of the United States soccer league system.
