Ajax and Spanish coach Oscar Garcia part ways after six months

Ajax have confirmed that manager Oscar Garcia has left the club with immediate effect.

[p]The 53-year-old Spaniard joined [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/ajax/8UOvIwnb/"]Ajax[/a] in February 2026 to manage [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/jong-ajax/GncWwxTm/"]Jong Ajax[/a] in the Dutch second tier, having signed an 18-month contract.[/p][p]After first-team manager Fred Grim was demoted in March, newly appointed technical director Jordi Cruyff, who brought Garcia with him to Amsterdam, appointed Garcia as first-team manager.[/p][p]In ten games as Ajax manager, Garcia won 5 times and lost twice. The Amsterdam giants finished fifth in the Eredivisie on the joint-lowest points tally since 1962 (55) and clinched a ticket for the UEFA Conference League qualifiers via the play-offs.[/p][embed guid="e1948602-bbb1-4a40-baec-e777e44d8547" url="https://x.com/AFCAjax/status/2068710536896766175?s=20" social-type="twitter" /][p]In early June, Ajax confirmed it had appointed former [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/girona/nNNpcUSL/"]Girona[/a] boss Míchel as the new first-team manager.[/p][p][b]"Oscar joined Ajax U23 at a difficult moment.
