Ilves stay top after goal-fest against Kiekko as TPS hand JYP back-to-back losses

[p]Since losing their second match of the season, [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/ilves-tampere/Oh5uGzDT/"]Ilves[/a] have won seven in a row and the last five of those have all come inside 60 minutes, after the leaders won [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/game/hockey/ilves-Oh5uGzDT/kiekko-espoo-IVYOkYeB/?mid=A5FxTvh4"]6-4[/a] at home to [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/kiekko-espoo/IVYOkYeB/"]Kiekko-Espoo[/a], who drop to eighth following successive losses.[/p][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/looke-jens/vPV6ILAs/"]Jens Looke[/a] was key for the home side in the first two periods as he gave Ilves an early lead and then equalised at 2-2 after a shorthanded [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/sallinen-jere/4Um77PfT/"]Jere Sallinen[/a] goal and one from [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/salovaara-eeli/lf4tK2ea/"]Eeli Salovaara[/a] had turned the match around. Ilves then exploded into life early in the third as [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/henman-luke/ADRnATR0/"]Luke Henman[/a], [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/strand-austin/GOueLb40/"]Austin Strand[/a] and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/jasek-lukas/0OkXrem5/"]Lukas Jasek[/a] scored three in seven minutes to put the Tampere side 5-2 up.[/p][p]But KE weren't done there, as [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/from-mathias/vZl33xNa/"]Mathias From[/a] and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/corcoran-connor/KSOMwMNu/"]Connor Corcoran[/a] pulled the gap back to one, only for [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/borg-erik/Odajpn3B/"]Erik Borg[/a] to finally seal the points for Ilves with an empty-netter in the dying seconds.[/p][embed guid="81623ba4-1d14-4ae2-bdab-ceab5f42746a" url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Loq6LgJYQU" social-type="youtube" /][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/jyp-jyvaskyla/YVjXBEzi/"]JYP[/a]'s perfect start was ended by [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/hameenlinna/zV5a4drH/"]Hameenlinna[/a] last time out, and they failed to bounce back this evening by going down [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/game/hockey/jyp-YVjXBEzi/tps-turku-Wd5rVrgM/?mid=82dQwd6M"]4-1[/a] to [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/tps-turku/Wd5rVrgM/"]TPS Turku[/a] - a result that saw the visitors drop to fourth, while TPS are up to ninth having ended a two-game losing streak of their own.[/p][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/vidgren-aaro/j7cNGauf/"]Aaro Vidgren[/a]'s sixth-minute goal would have had JYP believing again, and their joy lasted until the final five minutes of period two, when [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/savinainen-veli-matti/rPdgInC0/"]Veli-Matti Savinainen[/a] levelled for the hosts. That goal acted as a catalyst for TPS, and particularly for [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/haudum-lukas/GQUf2639/"]Lukas Haudum[/a], who scored a 10-minute hat-trick to take the points in style for the Turku side.[/p][embed guid="dcb28d58-903b-4d46-9bf2-6d276a498a5a" url="https://x.com/smliiga/status/2106437323735138805" social-type="twitter" /][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/jukurit/vmuCbWr3/"]Jukurit[/a]'s winning run was halted by Ilves in their previous outing, and they returned to form with a hard-fought [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/game/hockey/jukurit-vmuCbWr3/kalpa-tMuMK6vi/?mid=IVIpRIMG"]2-1[/a] win in overtime against [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/kalpa-kuopio/tMuMK6vi/"]KalPa[/a].
