Leksand's unlikely bid for Swedish Hockey League (SHL) survival continued to gather pace as they won 1-0 away at Linkoping for a third victory in a row.

[p]Having been cut adrift at the bottom of the standings, eight points from their last three games has moved [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/leksand/6X2ODGwL/"]Leksand[/a] to within four points of 12th-placed [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/orebro/Y3RLgQQn/"]Orebro[/a] and guaranteed survival with seven regular season matches to play.[/p][p]Three wins in a row is their best run of the season, surpassing their two wins in the opening two rounds in September, the only previous time they strung a pair of victories during this campaign.[/p][p]The only goal of the game came in the 13th minute of the second period, when [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/lundqvist-alexander/zBi9GTwN/"]Alexander Lundqvist[/a] played a long pass straight down the centre, bisecting the [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/linkoping/8njZmM61/"]Linkoping[/a] defence, to play [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/vejdemo-lukas/ry7IiKR5/"]Lukas Vejdemo[/a] through on goal. His initial effort was saved, but he made no mistake with the rebound.[/p][p]Hosts Linkoping were relentless in the final period in search of an equaliser, but despite two powerplaysand 17 shots on goal, they failed to find a way past [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/larsson-filip/bauP83p2/"]Filip Larsson[/a], who made 34 saves across 60 minutes in total to record the second Leksand shutout in as many games.[/p][embed guid="7f9cbff5-0d28-48af-9076-afd24b8f4aeb" url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mW2mNhqeLBY" social-type="youtube" /][p]A roughing call at the final buzzer led to tensions boiling over, as three players per team were ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct, but there was no changing [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/game/hockey/leksand-6X2ODGwL/linkoping-8njZmM61/?mid=CndM5toS"]the 1-0 final score[/a].[/p][p]It's four losses in a row now for Linkoping, who sit 11th, five points clear of the relegation playoff zone.[/p][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/hockey/sweden/shl/"]Follow the run in to the SHL regular season on Flashscore.[/a][/p]
