World number ones Harri Heliovaara of Finland and Henry Patten of Great Britain will play in the final of the Men's Doubles at Wimbledon 2026 thanks to a straight-sets (7-6, 7-6) win over unseeded Thanasi Kokkinakis and Aleksandar Kovacevic in the semi-finals.

[p]The top seeds, who reached the final of the French Open a little over a month ago, are back in the final at SW19 after their triumph together in 2024. The duo will be attempting to win their third Grand Slam each, having also taken the Australian Open title in 2025.[/p][p]But as has been customary throughout this Championship, their route to the showpiece match has been far from straightforward.[/p][p]In the opening set, neither pair came close to a loss of serve with the one exception of [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/heliovaara-harri/OYcuApkE/"]Heliovaara[/a] and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/patten-henry/tzbx2iwG/"]Patten[/a] forcing one break point chance in game four, but the Australian and American held off the challenge and a tiebreak was needed - the sixth in the top seeds' first 12 sets of the championship.[/p][p]That recent experience served them well, as they raced into a 3-0 lead having forced two losses of serve, before comfortably winning the tiebreak 7-2 to take the first set.[/p][p]Set two was almost the mirror image of the first - this time it was the Finnish-British pair who saved one break point in the fourth game, the only occasion when either duo came close to losing serve. At least, that was until game 10, when the favourites had to save two set points. That scare survived, it was onto tiebreak number 13.[/p][embed guid="2b8dbb2c-f4ab-4f61-8970-18379193aad3" url="https://x.com/the_LTA/status/2075254985642606642" social-type="twitter" /][p]Heliovaara and Patten went 2-1 up after a loss of serve each, before serve was held for the next eight points, meaning the Finn and Brit were on match point at 6-5 up but facing two serves from [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/kokkinakis-thanasi/rBm7dcxH/"]Kokkinakis[/a] and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/kovacevic-aleksandar/AudsF90U/"]Kovacevic[/a]. [/p][p]The unseeded pair held the first, but lost the second, giving match points to Heliovaara and Patten. However, this time it was they who failed to hold their nerve, allowing their opponents to level at 7-7.[/p][p]The drama continued as a failure from Kokkinakis and Kovacevic again handed the world number ones the chance to win it, and this time there would be no mistake, taking the tiebreak 10-8 and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/game/tennis/heliovaara-h-OYcuApkE/patten-h-tzbx2iwG/?mid=ltbiq3df"]the match 7-6, 7-6.[/a][/p][p]The Men's Doubles final will take place on Saturday 11th July, where Heliovaara and Patten will take on the sixth seeds, El Salvador's [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/arevalo-marcelo/zLNFemL9/"]Marcelo Arevalo[/a] and Croatia's Mate [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/pavic-mate/2Dnk4gai/"]Pavic[/a].[/p][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/game/tennis/heliovaara-h-OYcuApkE/patten-h-tzbx2iwG/?mid=0UzxeBfm"]Follow the Wimbledon 2026 Men's Double Final on Flashscore.[/a][/p]
