Holger Rune has decided to withdraw from the ATP tournament in Hamburg scheduled to begin on Saturday after sustaining a minor relapse in rehabilitation from an Achilles tendon injury. He has also withdrawn from the French Open

[p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/rune-holger/2kRS8swG/"]Holger Rune[/a] will not make a comeback at the ATP 500 tournament in Hamburg, which starts on Sunday, after the Achilles tendon injury that he sustained last year at the Stockholm Open, says his team in a press release. He will also miss the French Open.[/p][p]"I was really looking forward to making my comeback in Hamburg, and you all know that I love the clay and that Paris and Roland Garros have always been something very special to me, so it has not been an easy decision to make."[/p][p]"But for me it's not just about being able to complete a few matches, but a whole tournament, and I don't want to feel almost ready, but 110 percent ready when I start to play again", he says.[/p][p]The French Open starts on Sunday, 24 May, while the tournament in Hamburg ends the day before.[/p][p]The decision has been taken after a minor relapse in rehabilitation, the Rune camp informs. "In connection with the explosive and plyometric work, an irritation occurred in the knee, which has required a more controlled progression in the final sprint. This has advanced the overall schedule by a few weeks, as we did not want to take unnecessary risks", it says.[/p][p]Rune is now eyeing a comeback in the grass season, which starts in June. The goal is to be ready for the ATP 500 tournament in Queens, which starts on 15 June.[/p][p]And then the goal is to play at Wimbledon, which runs from 29 June and lasts two weeks.[/p]
