Wednesday's Wimbledon schedule will feature the second half of the quarter-final matches. Alexander Zverev faces his nightmare opponent Taylor Fritz, while Flavio Cobolli will try to halt the sensational run of home favourite Arthur Fery. The women's draw will serve up clashes between Linda Noskova and Elise Mertens, and Marta Kostyuk and former finalist Jasmine Paolini.

He has carried that form seamlessly into Wimbledon, where he has stormed into the quarter-finals in convincing fashion, highlighted by a dominant straight-sets victory over the dangerous Alexander Bublik in the fourth round. Having dropped just one set across his four matches so far, Fritz arrives at this quarter-final full of confidence and in excellent physical condition.[/p][p]The American has been one of the most consistent performers on grass in recent years, winning at least 10 matches on the surface in each of the last three seasons, including 2026. He has also been a model of consistency at Wimbledon, reaching at least the quarter-finals in three of the last four editions prior to this year. Moreover, this already represents his best Grand Slam result of the season after disappointing exits in the fourth round of the Australian Open and the first round of the French Open.[/p][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/zverev-alexander/dGbUhw9m/"]Alexander Zverev[/a]'s schedule was disrupted slightly after his fourth-round match against Jiri Lehecka was spread across two days, far from an ideal scenario. However, he ensured the disruption did not become any more significant by avoiding a deciding set and defeating the dangerous Czech in four sets to book his place in the quarter-finals. Zverev has not been at his most convincing throughout this Wimbledon campaign, but he has still managed to win every match without being taken the distance, while looking noticeably more composed and decisive in the key moments, exactly the kind of improvement many expected following his French Open triumph.[/p][p]Following his long-awaited maiden Grand Slam triumph at the French Open a few weeks ago, Zverev needed to back it up with another strong showing at Wimbledon. While the expectation for a top-two seed is to challenge for the title, simply reaching the quarter-finals can already be considered a significant achievement for the German, as Wimbledon had been the only Grand Slam where he had never previously progressed beyond the fourth round despite nine appearances. One more victory would send him into a third consecutive Grand Slam semi-final this season, a feat that neither Jannik Sinner nor Novak Djokovic has managed in 2026.[/p]
Head-to-head
[p]Fritz leads 10-5. Fritz has thoroughly dominated this rivalry in recent years, winning each of their last seven meetings. Three of those victories have come on grass, including their most recent clash in the Halle semi-final last month.[/p]
Stats & facts
[p]This is Fritz's fourth Wimbledon quarter-final, and he holds a 1-2 record at this stage.[/p][p]Fritz has a 2-12 career record against top-five players at Grand Slams, with both of those victories coming against Zverev.[/p][p]Zverev has won 11 of his 17 Grand Slam quarter-final matches, with three of those six defeats coming against higher-ranked opponents.[/p][p]Zverev has lost six of his seven career matches against top-10 players on grass.[/p]
Betting analysis
[p]As the reigning French Open champion, Zverev was expected to carry the confidence and momentum from that breakthrough into Wimbledon and mount another deep Grand Slam run. However, his long-standing mental block against Fritz, coupled with grass being his least successful surface and his poor record against top-10 players on it, tilts the balance in the American's favour. While this has all the makings of a closely contested battle, it is only fair that Fritz starts as the favourite.[/p][embed guid="509bba3e-8b13-4074-a96c-ddd616ef9717" url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_kgnoDNlk0c" social-type="youtube" /]
Fritz in 2026
[p]Best results: Halle, Stuttgart, Dallas (final)[/p][p]Best results on grass: Halle, Stuttgart (final)[/p][p]Record: 23-12[/p][p]Record in the last 10 matches: 8-2[/p][p]Record on grass: 11-2[/p][p]Record against top-10 players: 2-3 (career 35-52)[/p][p]Record in Grand Slam quarter-finals: 0-0 (career 2-5)[/p][p]Grand Slams: Australian Open (round of 16), French Open (round of 128)[/p]
Fritz at Wimbledon
[p]Career record: 22-9[/p][p]Best result: semi-finals (2025)[/p][p]Last year's result: semi-finals[/p][p]Record in quarter-finals: 1-2[/p][p]Preparation: Stuttgart (final), Halle (final)[/p][p]Road to the quarter-finals: Lajovic (6-3, 6-4, 6-3), Kypson (6-2, 6-2, 7-5), Sonego (4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 7-6), (10) Bublik (7-6, 6-4, 6-4)[/p]
Zverev in 2026
[p]Best results: French Open (title); Madrid (final)[/p][p]Best results on grass: Halle (semi-finals)[/p][p]Record: 42-10[/p][p]Record in the last 10 matches: 9-1[/p][p]Record on grass: 7-1[/p][p]Record against top-10 players: 0-6 (career 58-86)[/p][p]Record in Grand Slam quarter-finals: 2-0 (career 11-6)[/p][p]Grand Slams: Australian Open (semi-finals), French Open (title)[/p]
Zverev at Wimbledon
[p]Career record: 20-9[/p][p]Best result: quarter-finals (2026)[/p][p]Last year's result: round of 128[/p][p]Record in quarter-finals: 0-0[/p][p]Preparation: Halle (semi-finals)[/p][p]Road to the quarter-finals: Blockx (6-4, 6-7, 7-6, 7-6), Royer (6-1, 6-3, 7-6), Giron (6-2, 7-6, 6-4), (13) Lehecka (6-4, 7-5, 3-6, 7-6)[/p]
[a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/game/tennis/cobolli-f-zDtaCcPe/fery-a-SKxbA6KA/?mid=xEpwTMc2"]Cobolli vs Fery - 16:00 CET[/a]

Match news and form
[p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/cobolli-flavio/zDtaCcPe/"]Flavio Cobolli[/a]'s 2026 season has very much been an all-or-nothing affair. He has developed a habit of either crashing out very early in tournaments or, when he finds his rhythm, putting together deep runs that make him look like a completely different player. In all honesty, this Wimbledon campaign appeared more likely to be one of the former, as the injury he suffered in the French Open final and his lack of grass-court preparation suggested an early exit was on the cards. Instead, he has impressively turned it into another deep run.[/p][p]Cobolli's performances in the last two rounds have been particularly impressive, recovering from a 0-6 first-set loss to beat Karen Khachanov in five sets before following it up with a superb straight-sets victory over Alex de Minaur in the fourth round, despite trailing by a break in two of the three sets. Without a doubt, this has to be an immensely satisfying result for Cobolli as it is his first Grand Slam as a top-10 player, and this run has not only built on the momentum from his breakthrough at the French Open but, more importantly, has allowed him to successfully defend all of the quarter-final ranking points he earned at Wimbledon last year.[/p][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/fery-arthur/SKxbA6KA/"]Arthur Fery[/a] has emerged as the surprise underdog story of this year's Wimbledon, and what makes his run even more remarkable is the number of times he has stared defeat in the face. He trailed by a set in both the first and second rounds, recovered from a break deficit in the deciding set against the in-form Zizou Bergs in the third round, and then came back from two sets to one down and a break behind in the fourth set against Grigor Dimitrov in the round of 16 to keep his dream run alive.[/p][p]The grass-court swing has always been the best opportunity for young British players like Fery to make a breakthrough at tour level, and in that regard, the 23-year-old could hardly have asked for a better few weeks. He has won 10 of his 13 matches on grass this season, first reaching his maiden ATP Tour quarter-final at Queen's Club before surpassing that achievement with a dream run to the Wimbledon quarter-finals. These two results are set to change the trajectory of his career, as he arrived at Wimbledon ranked No. 114 but has now climbed to a career-high No. 63 in the live rankings, guaranteeing direct entry into ATP Tour events in the coming months.[/p]
Head-to-head
[p]Fery leads 1-0. Their only previous meeting came at the Australian Open earlier this year, where the Brit pulled off a routine straight-sets victory over Cobolli.[/p]
Stats & facts
[p]This is Cobolli's third Grand Slam quarter-final, and he holds a 1-1 record at this stage, with his only defeat coming against Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon last year.[/p][p]Cobolli has won seven of his 10 matches against non-top-100 players this year.[/p][p]Fery is the first non-top-100 player to reach the Wimbledon quarter-finals since Nick Kyrgios in 2014, when the Australian lost to Milos Raonic at this stage.[/p][p]Fery's only previous meeting with a top-10 player came here at Wimbledon in 2023, when he lost to Daniil Medvedev in straight sets.[/p]
Betting analysis
[p]Fery has already demonstrated that he can trouble Cobolli, having comfortably beaten him at the Australian Open earlier this year. However, Cobolli has repeatedly shown that he becomes a far more dangerous player in the latter stages of tournaments, while he also possesses greater experience in big matches. With Fery coming off back-to-back gruelling five-set battles, this looks like a favourable opportunity for Cobolli to reach consecutive Grand Slam semi-finals and gain revenge for his Australian Open defeat.[/p][embed guid="d4004e06-49bd-4d46-b26c-9b426960944d" url="https://x.com/josemorgado/status/2074211700144828572" social-type="twitter" /]
Cobolli in 2026
[p]Best results: Acapulco (title); French Open, Munich (final)[/p][p]Best results on grass: Wimbledon (quarter-finals)[/p][p]Record: 27-14[/p][p]Record in the last 10 matches: 8-2[/p][p]Record on grass: 4-1[/p][p]Record against outside top-100 players: 7-3 (career 166-97)[/p][p]Record in Grand Slam quarter-finals: 1-0 (career 1-1)[/p][p]Grand Slams: Australian Open (round of 128), French Open (final)[/p]
Cobolli at Wimbledon
[p]Career record: 9-2[/p][p]Best result: quarter-finals (2025-26)[/p][p]Last year's result: quarter-finals[/p][p]Record in quarter-finals: 0-1[/p][p]Preparation: Halle (round of 32)[/p][p]Road to the quarter-finals: Navone (1-6, 7-6, 6-3, 7-6), Duckworth (7-6, 3-6, 7-6, 6-1), (19) Khachanov (0-6, 7-6, 6-7, 6-2, 6-2), (5) De Minaur (7-5, 7-6, 6-3)[/p]
Fery in 2026
[p]Best results: Queen's Club (quarter-finals)[/p][p]Best results on grass: Queen's Club (quarter-finals)[/p][p]Record: 24-12[/p][p]Record in the last 10 matches: 7-3[/p][p]Record on grass: 10-3[/p][p]Record against top-10 players: 0-0 (career 0-1)[/p][p]Record in Grand Slam quarter-finals: 0-0 (career 0-0)[/p][p]Grand Slams: Australian Open (round of 64), French Open (qualifying)[/p]
Fery at Wimbledon
[p]Career record: 5-3[/p][p]Best result: quarter-finals (2026)[/p][p]Last year's result: round of 64[/p][p]Record in quarter-finals: 0-0[/p][p]Preparation: Birmingham challenger (semi-finals), Queen's Club (quarter-finals), Eastbourne (round of 16)[/p][p]Road to the quarter-finals: Dzumhur (3-6, 6-2, 6-2, 6-1), Virtanen (5-7, 7-6, 6-3, 6-3), Bergs (2-6, 7-5, 2-6, 7-6, 7-6), Dimitrov (7-5, 3-6, 4-6, 6-4, 7-6)[/p]
[a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/game/tennis/mertens-e-Y1ZrrUtl/noskova-l-zHMiAkw6/?mid=KQkmFCJD"]Noskova vs Mertens - 14:00 CET[/a]

Match news and form
[p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/mertens-elise/Y1ZrrUtl/"]Elise Mertens[/a] was having trouble getting wins under her belt in the run-up to Wimbledon but has turned around her fortune with four confident wins.
