Texans sign Danielle Hunter to one-year, $40.1 million extension

The Houston Texans signed star defensive end Danielle Hunter to a one-year, $40.1 million extension on Thursday that includes a $30.7 million signing bonus.

Throughout his 10-year career, Hunter has recorded at least 10 sacks in seven of those seasons and at least 12 in six. [/p][p]He spent eight years with the Vikings, missing the 2020 season with a herniated disc, before he joined the Texans. He's racked up a total of 562 tackles, 114.5 sacks, 179 QB hits, 140 tackles for a loss, 15 forced fumbles, 14 pass deflections, and two touchdowns throughout 153 games over the course of his career.[/p][p]Houston's 2025 season came to an end after the team got bounced in the AFC Divisional Round by the New England Patriots. [/p]
