Jordan coach Jamal Sellami said his players' inexperience may have cost them in a 2-1 defeat by ‌Algeria at San Francisco Bay Area Stadium on ‌Monday, but he was proud of ‌their World Cup campaign despite their early ‌exit.

[p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/jordan/vNcmJoU2/"]Jordan[/a] bow out of their first ‌World Cup after consecutive defeats in Group J. They lost 3-1 to [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/austria/naHiWdnt/"]Austria[/a] in ‌their opener.[/p][p]"The Algerian team did some substitutions that ‌might have made a difference. They had a very tall offensive player ... I think our lack of experience allowed them to score from two corner kicks when we were waiting to make our own substitutions with the cooling break."[/p][p]"Generally speaking, we had a great match, and we should be proud of our performance. Very first ‌experience in the World Cup, we were better than the first match."[/p][image alt="Match stats" id="7ec65c6f-1a9e-40f0-9285-28a89e31b5d7" credit-line="StatsPerform via Opta" guid="2b620f42-371a-44c7-b171-fa9af427428e" original-width="1080" original-height="1080" /][p]"Now for us facing [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/argentina/f9OppQjp/"]Argentina[/a] is an opportunity. It's an opportunity for us to perform well and leave a great mark worthy of Jordanian football."[/p][p]Sellami, who is Moroccan, said Jordan's Crown Prince Hussein ‌had visited the players' dressing room after the match and offered them congratulations. "Whenever ‌you lose, there is always a negative feeling you're not in the best state of mind as the players that they have shown, but his words were a tonic for ‌their spirit."[/p][infobox id="4ccc1b10-d68f-4c97-bcf4-5e613c17c2e3" /][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/game/soccer/algeria-nc87N1BR/jordan-vNcmJoU2/?mid=dx1FAaN7"]Check out the match stats here[/a].[/p]
