Liverpool remain relaxed about Cody Gakpo’s future and will only entertain a sale if an offer is simply too good to turn down.

[p]Tottenham made an enquiry over Gakpo earlier this summer and have recently revisited the situation as they continue to assess experienced, proven attacking options ahead of the new season.[/p][p]While there is a scenario in which Liverpool could sanction a sale, sources over the weekend suggested it would take a significant premium to persuade the Reds to part with the 27-year-old.[/p][p]The club are not actively looking to cash in and remain happy with Gakpo's role in the squad. But the situation is made more intriguing by Liverpool's pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola.[/p][p]Although Barcola's arrival would increase competition in the attacking positions, insiders close to the club have told Flashscore it would not definitely impact Gakpo's future.[/p][p]Liverpool's priority is to build a deep, high-quality squad for new head coach Andoni Iraola, with the aim of competing across every competition next season rather than reducing their options. [/p][embed guid="c9285b18-e768-46b3-b64e-ebbe8122f1d2" url="https://x.com/DeadlineDayLive/status/2083915974516858962" social-type="twitter" /][p]Despite that stance, Tottenham continue to keep a close eye on developments and could test Liverpool's resolve with a formal approach in the coming days if they believe a deal is achievable.[/p][p]Spurs have been one of the busiest clubs in the market and have also made enquiries for a number of high-profile forwards, including Dusan Vlahovic, Omar Marmoush, Ollie Watkins and Endrick. [/p][p]Their objective is to add an elite attacking talent capable of significantly improving their goalscoring threat before the transfer window closes.[/p][p]Interest in Gakpo has intensified following Tottenham's failure to secure Eli Junior Kroupi from Bournemouth, who had emerged as their preferred attacking target. With that move now off due to injury, the club have widened their search, and Gakpo is on their shortlist.[/p][p]Marmoush also continues to be admired internally, although Tottenham are simultaneously attempting to finalise a deal for Savinho. Negotiations with Manchester City have proven complicated and have progressed slower than expected.[/p][infobox id="f961102e-920a-4281-b5f2-f996852544cf" /]
