Saturday saw 11 games in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the big clash between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers failing to disappoint.

[a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/novak-thomas/l6XdQI8b/"]Thomas Novak[/a] got the opening goal three minutes in, before [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/tippett-owen/OEMYdnRA/"]Owen Tippett[/a] responded for the Flyers moments later.[/p][embed guid="30a832d9-783f-4445-af80-fa96617465ea" url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjhL22poJbM&pp=ygUDbmhs" social-type="youtube" /][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/rakell-rickard/8SsMqZsT/"]Rickard Rakell[/a] then put the hosts back in front early in the second, only for [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/bump-alex/SI8zwkcf/"]Alex Bump[/a] to respond a minute after. [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/karlsson-erik/QPyAsZAH/"]Erik Karlsson[/a] made it 3-2 for Pittsburgh, but once more, Philadelphia had an answer. [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/denver-pioneers/Sx861gEj/"]Denver Barkey[/a] was the one to restore parity.[/p][p]It ultimately required a shootout to determine a winner, where [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/zegras-trevor/r7up9Iwr/"]Trevor Zegras[/a] was the only skater to find the back of the net among the five shooters. [/p][p]The victory draws the Flyers a bit closer to the playoff places in the Eastern Conference, sitting six points back of the [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/boston-bruins/jeans23J/"]Boston Bruins[/a]. The Penguins, meanwhile, remain sixth in the conference with what was their third successive defeat.[/p]
[a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/game/hockey/los-angeles-kings-CIDo8i2o/montreal-canadiens-nu2G7VWc/?mid=KxmTRr3L"]Los Angeles Kings 3-4 Montreal Canadiens[/a]
[p]Another back-and-forth contest from Saturday's play went the [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/montreal-canadiens/nu2G7VWc/"]Montreal Canadiens[/a]' way in a 4-3 defeat of the [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/los-angeles-kings/CIDo8i2o/"]Los Angeles Kings[/a].[/p][p]Both teams took the lead at some point of this contest, with [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/kopitar-anze/vNlBZ8Wo/"]Anze Kopitar[/a] putting the Kings in front early on. The Habs responded in the second with goals from [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/evans-jake/URwCeNtq/"]Jake Evans[/a] and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/slafkovsky-juraj/ATgrbSxq/"]Juraj Slavkovsky[/a] to take a 2-1 lead. Yet, they would go into the locker rooms level thanks to [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/laughton-scott/UXtzJIsh/"]Scott Laughton[/a]'s equalizer.[/p][embed guid="1d4fd474-5c99-4860-bd60-56db51776388" url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gj4qWQem9Vg&pp=ygUDbmhs" social-type="youtube" /][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/laferriere-alex/ENuBovOp/"]Alex Laferriere[/a] put Los Angeles back in front with 13:16 left in regulation as they hoped to win consecutive matches. Unfortunately for them, it was not meant to be. Slafkovsky got his second of the night before [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/suzuki-nick/AwFYM8lT/"]Nick Suzuki[/a] netted the winner with a little less than five minutes left.[/p][p]The Habs jump back up to fourth in the Eastern Conference, passing the [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/detroit-red-wings/dnJdmCF0/"]Detroit Red Wings[/a] in the process.
