Denmark boost morale before World Championships with comfortable win against Slovakia

A depleted Danish team without some of its biggest profiles on Friday night boosted their morale when they recorded a 3-0 win against Slovakia in the second but last test match ahead of the World Championships in Switzerland which begins on 15 February.

[p]The Danish national ice hockey team won a test match ahead of the Ice Hockey World Championships 3-0 over [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/slovakia/ruzLVmAN/"]Slovakia[/a] on Friday.[/p][p]The Danes thus boosted their confidence before the penultimate task before the World Championships later this month. [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/denmark/2mX8FleU/"]Denmark[/a] and Slovakia will meet again on Saturday in a final test match before the World Championships. [/p][p]In Friday's match, Denmark scored once in the first period through Mathias From after 12 minutes. Neither team scored in the second period, but in the third period, the Danes put everything in place with two more goals.[/p][p]Almost four minutes into the third period, Denmark managed to double the lead, and this time it was [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/storm-frederik/lYJoVWk5/"]Frederik Storm[/a] who found the net.[/p][p]When the Slovaks went all out without a goalkeeper, [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/olesen-nick/Q3nvhOtn/"]Nick Olesen[/a] scored the final goal in an empty net to put the icing on the cake. [/p][p]Denmark's last test match starts on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. CET. The Danish national team travels to the World Championships in Switzerland in the middle of next week.[/p][p]Last year, Denmark made it all the way to a historic semi-final at the World Championships by beating [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/canada/dSsR389c/"]Canada[/a] in the quarter-final.[/p]
