[p]The Danish tennis player [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/rune-holger/2kRS8swG/"]Holger Rune[/a] had hoped to make a comeback at the grass tournament at The Queen's Club in London, which begins on 15 June. But he has been forced to withdraw, says his mother, and manager Aneke Rune, who confirms the news to Ritzau.[/p][p]Now the goal is to get ready for the Grand Slam tournament, Wimbledon, which starts on 28 June. [/p][p]It was back in October 2025 that Rune got off to a bad start in a semi-final match at a tournament in Stockholm when suddenly his leg gave way in the middle of a rally, the now 23-year-old Dane fell to the ground, and soon after it was confirmed that he had torn t his Achilles tendon.[/p]
Danish tennis star Rune postpones expected comeback once again in race for Wimbledon
Holger Rune has withdrawn from the Queens Club tournament in London ahead of Wimbledon. Its the second time that the Danish tennis star cancels his comeback after he sustained an Achilles tendon injury last year in the Stockholm Open semi-final.
