Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur and Nottingham Forest are among the sides monitoring Yoane Wissa ahead of a likely summer transfer from Newcastle United.

[p]The forward only arrived at St James’ Park from [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/brentford/xYe7DwID/"]Brentford[/a] last summer in a deal worth £55 million, but his spell on Tyneside has failed to go to plan.[/p][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/wissa-yoane/b35gWzB2/"]Wissa[/a] has managed just three goals in all competitions, with injuries disrupting his early months at the club before a prolonged dip in form limited his opportunities in the starting line-up.[/p][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/newcastle-utd/p6ahwuwJ/"]Newcastle[/a] are now open to offers for the 28-year-old and are understood to have accepted they will make a significant financial loss. There is little chance of recouping the original fee, with the striker potentially available for around half the amount they paid for him.[/p][p]Wissa, 29, is understood to be open to the prospect of a fresh start, with regular first-team football a key factor. A move outside of English football is very possible.[/p][embed guid="97f5cc3b-1600-44c0-86f9-1f9f2fec2f05" url="https://x.com/TheAthleticFC/status/2048866057192972349" social-type="twitter" /][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/aston-villa/W00wmLO0/"]Aston Villa[/a], [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/tottenham/UDg08Ohm/"]Spurs[/a] and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/nottingham/UsushcZr/"]Nottingham Forest[/a] all showed interest in Wissa prior to his move from Brentford, and we understand the trio are among clubs to have been alerted to his availability for the summer window.[/p][p]But a move to a club in Saudi Arabia is also a very realistic option, should a Premier League stay not materialise.[/p][p]Wissa was signed alongside [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/woltemade-nick/4YDUd1at/"]Nick Woltemade[/a], following the departure of [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/isak-alexander/p41IV42c/"]Alexander Isak[/a] to [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/liverpool/lId4TMwf/"]Liverpool[/a]. However, a disappointing campaign has prompted a rethink at Newcastle.[/p][p]Midfielder [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/tonali-sandro/fmQVO5TQ/"]Sandro Tonali[/a] is attracting major interest and is likely to be a big-name departure this summer, while manager Eddie Howe is also facing an uncertain future as the club considers significant changes.[/p][p]Newcastle’s recruitment team have already begun looking at ways to refresh the squad. The club are also mindful of complying with financial regulations, which adds further incentive to move players on. [/p][image alt="Dean Jones" id="0f685dd0-10a2-43d8-9966-361f00f7203c" credit-line="Flashscore" guid="cdb3e5fd-9d5c-4fb6-aac7-6292774f9a23" original-width="1200" original-height="380" /]
