Farjestad came from 5-0 down to beat Rogle 6-5 after overtime and take a 2-0 lead in their Swedish Hockey League (SHL) playoff quarter-final series, as Vaxjo opened a two-game advantage over Brynas as 21 goals were scored across the two games.

[p]The manner of [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/game/hockey/farjestad-4b1TBPb8/rogle-j5ve8f1r/?mid=4fBnO4fm"]Farjestad's win[/a] will provide a huge psychological boost, especially given its their second win on the road in the series. The Karlstad side also made history, as the first side to overturn a 5-0 deficit in the SHL playoffs.[/p][p]Few would have seen it coming, after [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/everberg-dennis/jNJkFWag/"]Dennis Everberg[/a] gave Rogle the lead after three minutes, before [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/sjalin-calle/6yJqOly9/"]Calle Sjalin[/a] doubled the advantage 10 minutes later. Sjalin then turned provider for [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/solberg-isac/zXga7rkJ/"]Isac Solberg[/a] to make it three, then Everberg added his second with still over three minutes left in the first period.[/p][p]The visitors took off [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/thelin-melker/hAL3P5v7/"]Melker Thelin[/a], who had still managed to make nine saves against the relentless Rogle attack, but replacement [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/larmi-emil/4pxPJXfc/"]Emil Larmi[/a] was picking the puck out of his net within a minute of the change, as Sjalin completed his brace on the first powerplay of the game.[/p][p]Before the first period ended, there was still time for [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/lodin-viktor/tv3Kr385/"]Viktor Lodin[/a] to get [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/farjestad/4b1TBPb8/"]Farjestad[/a] on the scoresheet, and that seemed to be the glimmer of hope they needed.[/p][embed guid="fcb65739-5aae-41a8-a228-31ddc199a472" url="https://x.com/SHLse/status/2037250374625538299" social-type="twitter" /][p]Lodin got his second point with an assist for [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/tomasek-david/xtkW4fH5/"]David Tomasek[/a] six minutes into the second period, and when Farjestad earned a penalty two minutes later, Tomasek continued his purple patch to reduce the deficit to two in a middle period beset by penalties on both sides.[/p][p]Early in the third period, [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/alba-emil/fgJ93M9f/"]Emil Alba[/a] ramped up the tension in Angelholm by making it 5-4, then, after Rogle failed to make use of Lodin being sent to the box for charging, they were punished by [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/studenic-marian/jTl0G6qd/"]Marian Studenic[/a], who made it 5-5 with still over 12 minutes to play.[/p][p]There would be no late winner in regulation time, sending the teams to overtime, and in the third minute, Lodin was again called, this time for holding, but yet again Rogle couldn't take advantage of the extra player.[/p][p]That came back to haunt them, as after [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/bristedt-leon/KQNpzlpH/"]Leon Bristedt[/a] was penalised for interference, Tomasek was the man to punish the home side and score the winner on the powerplay, completing his hat-trick and the most remarkable turnaround.[/p][embed guid="f7a89bc9-32c4-44d0-8abe-2040a68d95a8" url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBbjDCSyJcM" social-type="youtube" /][p]For [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/vaxjo/hzXCSnCE/"]Vaxjo[/a], it's two home wins out of two as they also had to come from behind - albeit not so far behind - in their [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/game/hockey/brynas-MZgKvenk/vaxjo-hzXCSnCE/?mid=8SyLPHVi"]6-4[/a] success over [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/brynas/MZgKvenk/"]Brynas[/a].[/p][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/jonsson-fjallby-axel/xpiGAPFk/"]Axel Jonsson Fjallby[/a] scored his second goal of the month to break the deadlock in the fourth minute, and when [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/kinnvall-johannes/rk6vA7YA/"]Johannes Kinnvall[/a] notched his second assist when he found [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/rodin-anton/CYyJDUUd/"]Anton Rodin[/a] to make it 2-0 five minutes later, Brynas had real hope of cancelling out their 6-2 loss on the opening night.[/p][p]But it wasn't to be - [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/robert-felix/YLLbWE91/"]Felix Robert[/a]'s goal to halve the deficit late in the first period was Vaxjo's catalyst, as [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/agren-manuel/ADJMZAgQ/"]Manuel Agren[/a] equalised within 30 seconds of the second period getting underway, then [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/sahlin-wallenius-leo/SICs6JuB/"]Leo Sahlin Wallenius[/a] put them in front soon after the midpoint of the match.[/p][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/lindblom-oskar/dMB8RfZA/"]Oskar Lindblom[/a] stopped the rot to make it 3-3 late in the second, but unlike the Lakers, the Gavle side couldn't take the momentum into the last period, which saw [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/rasmussen-dennis/jmVyoXQF/"]Dennis Rasmussen[/a] and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/kratz-kalle/E7b2kUce/"]Kalle Kratz[/a] open up a two-goal lead within three minutes.[/p][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/silfverberg-jakob/UPzboejG/"]Jakob Silfverberg[/a]'s goal on a powerplay with 13 minutes to go gave Brynas enough time to force overtime, but that chance was gone once Agren scored his second of the game with an empty-netter in the final two minutes.[/p][embed guid="eae4686b-ecf6-4f1c-9a2f-dc7fdc266dfc" url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ip_PqUVkI4M" social-type="youtube" /][p]Brynas and Rogle will be hoping for better when the respective game three in both series takes place on Saturday 28th March.[/p][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/hockey/sweden/shl/"]Follow the SHL postseason on Flashscore.[/a][/p]
