Djokovic unsure if he'll ever play French Open again after dramatic loss to Fonseca

Novak Djokovic said he didn't know if he would play at the French Open again after his latest quest for a record 25th Grand Slam ended in a third-round loss to Joao Fonseca on Friday.

[p]Brazilian teenager [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/fonseca-joao/tv073LUc/"]Fonseca[/a] produced a sensational comeback to erase a two-set deficit and beat [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/djokovic-novak/AZg49Et9/"]Djokovic[/a] 4-6, 4-6, 6-3, 7-5, 7-5 after almost five hours on court.[/p][p]Djokovic was condemned to his earliest exit at Roland Garros since 2009, and left the court making a heart gesture to the Philippe Chatrier crowd.[/p][p][b]Asked if he would be back next year, Djokovic twice replied: "I don't know."[/b][/p][p]Djokovic has been stuck on 24 majors since the 2023 US Open and may not get a better chance to add to that haul.[/p][p]The 39-year-old, a three-time winner at Roland Garros, had once more emerged as the man to beat following the shock exit of world number one [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/sinner-jannik/6HdC3z4H/"]Jannik Sinner[/a].[/p][p]Two-time defending champion [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/alcaraz-garfia-carlos/UkhgIFEq/"]Carlos Alcaraz[/a] was already missing in Paris due to injury.[/p][p]But Djokovic was in no mood to reflect on what might have been.[/p][p][b]"I don't care.
