Postponed comeback forces Holger Rune to withdraw from Wimbledon

Holger Rune's team says that it has been necessary to postpone his comeback from the Achilles tendon injury that he sustained last year, and consequently, he won't be fit to take part in Wimbledon

[p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/rune-holger/2kRS8swG/"]Holger Rune[/a]'s comeback has been postponed once again, and the Dane will not be ready for Wimbledon, which starts on 29 June.[/p][p]The Rune camp announced this in a WhatsApp message to TV2 Sport.[/p][p]"After a thorough assessment, we have decided that Holger will not participate in Wimbledon this year."[/p][embed guid="b8d3e5e3-9e63-40db-bb27-ee4529cfc448" url="https://x.com/PrinceHolger_/status/2066913694143938870" social-type="twitter" /][p][b]"His rehabilitation continues to progress very well. Both the Achilles tendon and the knee are responding positively, and he is making steady progress in all areas. All scans also look good. His movement on the court is getting better and better, and he is now able to train at a high level for a longer period of time without problems."[/b][/p][p]Rune also put his own words to the cancellation.[/p][p]"Missing Wimbledon is not an easy decision, but the long-term goal remains the same: To come back stronger and be ready to compete at the highest level. I'm getting closer every day and it's very satisfying to feel the progress. The spirits are high - see you soon."[/p]
