Liverpool are being linked with midfielder Adam Wharton, but Tottenham also retain a huge interest in the Crystal Palace star.

[p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/wharton-adam/v5IYUpDm/"]Wharton[/a] was not included in England's World Cup squad this summer, yet [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/crystal-palace/AovF1Mia/"]Palace[/a] remain hopeful he will stay at Selhurst Park for at least one more season.[/p][p]However, fresh reports emerged on Wednesday suggesting [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/liverpool/lId4TMwf/"]Liverpool[/a] are keen to explore a deal for the 22-year-old as they continue to reshape their midfield options under [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/iraola-andoni/xpALVpwq/"]Andoni Iraola[/a].[/p][p]Sources have told Flashscore that [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/tottenham/UDg08Ohm/"]Tottenham[/a] also remain firmly in the race and have identified Wharton as one of their priority targets for the next transfer window.[/p][p]It is understood Liverpool view Wharton, alongside [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/bournemouth/OtpNdwrc/"]Bournemouth[/a] midfielder [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/scott-alex/boFdbMyt/"]Alex Scott[/a], as a player capable of adding new control and quality to the centre of the pitch. But Spurs have been tracking Wharton for more than a year and have deliberately remained patient as they wait for the right opportunity to make their move.[/p][p]The midfielder is highly regarded within the club's recruitment department, with several insiders viewing him as one of the most complete young midfielders currently playing in the Premier League.[/p][embed guid="d6bf7914-7652-4560-9c0a-9eae31783de3" url="https://x.com/BBCMOTD/status/2059906290407653769" social-type="twitter" /][p]While Tottenham are exploring a number of other midfield options, Wharton continues to stand out as one of the names highest on their shortlist.[/p][p]Spurs are also interested in [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/newcastle-utd/p6ahwuwJ/"]Newcastle[/a] midfielder [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/tonali-sandro/fmQVO5TQ/"]Sandro Tonali[/a], although they may face competition from [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/manchester-city/Wtn9Stg0/"]Manchester City[/a], [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/manchester-united/ppjDR086/"]Manchester United[/a] and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/arsenal/hA1Zm19f/"]Arsenal[/a] if they are to persuade the Italy international to make another move within the Premier League.[/p][p]And sources suggest Wharton remains the player Spurs would ideally like to bring to north London.[/p][p]Any move is going to prove complicated given Palace's determination to keep him - as well as the growing interest from rival clubs. [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/chelsea/4fGZN2oK/"]Chelsea[/a] [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/news/soccer-premier-league-chelsea-keen-on-world-cup-snubbed-adam-wharton-sources-confirm-to-flashscore/ttaU00Ec/"]are also believed to have an eye on him[/a].[/p][p]But Tottenham's admiration is serious and they remain alert to any opportunity that could arise over the coming months, with attempts to progress the situation coming soon.[/p][infobox id="f961102e-920a-4281-b5f2-f996852544cf" /]
