Chicago White Sox rookie Munetaka Murakami and Cleveland Guardians rookie Chase DeLauter joined the MLB record books this past week after both homered in each of their first three games.

[p]The two joined [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/story-trevor/xSPYYQQq/"]Trevor Story[/a] (2016) and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/lewis-kyle/YqzUMH4F/"]Kyle Lewis[/a] (2019) to achieve the feat. [/p][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/murakami-munetaka/Um3qc5aF/"]Murakami[/a], who was the [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/chicago-white-sox/SW9D1eZo/"]White Sox[/a]'s big Japanese international free agent signing, hit [a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iFNtSdtpCu4" target="_blank"]his first career home run off Jake Woodford[/a] in the ninth inning of game one, [a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MU_y2iVZDk0" target="_blank"]his second off Chad Patrick[/a] in the fourth inning of game two, then his third against [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/sproat-brandon/KSBJ7i6s/"]Brandon Sproat[/a] in the second inning of game three. [/p][embed guid="6e8fea48-4d5e-403c-b6d8-49f12412db32" url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KvQ9l3pL0hE" social-type="youtube" /][p]His three home runs were his only three hits of the series, going 3-for-9 with three RBI, four walks, and four strikeouts. Despite the [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/milwaukee-brewers/CGzqC60o/"]Milwaukee Brewers[/a] sweeping the Sox, Murakami came out of it with a 1.871 OPS (on-base percentage + slugging percentage), which currently ranks second in the entire league. [/p][p]As for [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/delauter-chase/GdfhVcxl/"]DeLauter[/a], his streak is considered even more historic. [/p][p]The [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/cleveland-guardians/4K05MrFG/"]Guardians[/a]' rookie not only hit a home run in his first three games, but he tallied four total, including two in his MLB debut. DeLauter was 5-for-14 (.357) at the plate with five RBI and five strikeouts before heading into game four of Cleveland's series against the [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/seattle-mariners/txYPhSac/"]Seattle Mariners[/a].[/p][p]But it was his fourth home run that would prove to be the most crucial. [/p][p]DeLauter launched one in the top of the 10th inning during game three of the series that put the Guardians up 6-3, which would be just enough for the win after the Mariners almost rallied in the bottom half of the inning, finishing the game 6-5. [/p][embed guid="0c616920-0dff-41aa-a585-9c2152857cac" url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a4kjruZj-Nc" social-type="youtube" /]
