New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo issued a public apology after he said that CTE "is not an excuse" and that "asthma is fake, too," in a "Bring the Juice" podcast episode.

[p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/skattebo-cameron/CO11vqLB/"]Skattebo[/a], 24, has already been under fire since entering the league for his hard-nose style of football that many fans have joked about, saying that he probably already has CTE due to the amount of head-on collisions he takes. [/p][p]"It was never my intention to downplay the seriousness of head injuries or asthma," [a href="https://x.com/camskattebo5/status/2035480757662265725?s=20" target="_blank"]said Skattebo in the statement[/a]. "I sincerely apologize to anyone that was offended by my remarks, and I assure you that I’ll be more mindful and respectful going forward... Much love!!!"[/p][embed guid="4b675d3d-4ca2-4082-9d81-ac6020c49102" url="https://x.com/nypostsports/status/2035472808453755066?s=20" social-type="twitter" /][p]Skattebo was selected by the [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/new-york-giants/lIrBvlxF/"]Giants[/a] in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. He would finish the 2025 season with 410 rushing yards and 207 receiving yards, along with seven total touchdowns (five rushing), through eight games. [/p][p]His season ended after he suffered a gruesome injury that included a dislocated ankle, fractured tibia, and a ruptured deltoid ligament. He's expected to be ready for the upcoming 2026 season. [/p][p]During his appearance on the Rich Eisen Show earlier this month, Skattebo said, "I ran for the first time today, about 75% ... it's the bright side of things."[/p]
