EXCLUSIVE: Udinese's head of technical operations on transfer window & aims for season

Looking at our matches, we have always been right there, but as you know, in football you need to stay focused until the end. I hope we can do even better because the team is there. We just need to improve in a few areas, but if I have to sum things up, we can still give more at the moment."[/p][p][b]Are you satisfied with the transfer window?[/b][/p][p]"Every year and certainly this year as well, we have signed very interesting players who have settled in extremely well. What I like is that the players are aware of where they have arrived, so we are happy with this transfer window."[/p][p][b]Is one of your main objectives to take the next step, or is it still too early for Udinese to return to where they were?[/b][/p][p]"Look, we are all ambitious, of course, but Serie A is difficult and the season is long. We need to give 200% in every game to show our quality and perform well. But there is no reason to lose heart. Has it ever been a distraction in the past?[/b][/p][p]"Yes, you can look at it in two ways. On the one hand, it is a good opportunity to recover both mentally and physically; on the other, waiting so long can be difficult. However, we also have to deal with these situations and move forward, so we welcome it. Yesterday I was in Milan at the VAR centre, where we discussed various issues with Orsato. You can also see it statistically: the game is stopped much less, more football is being played and referees are blowing their whistles less often. I like that. Obviously, the new rules still need to be assimilated, so we will see."[/p][p][b]An off-the-pitch question: are these events important for Udinese?[/b][/p][p]"These events are very important, especially for Udinese, which organises them every year, and I am happy because the players deserve it."[/p]
