Finland's Harri Heliovaara and Great Britain's Henry Patten are through to the Quarter-finals of the 2026 French Open Men's Doubles thanks to a straight-sets (6-3, 6-4) win over the Swedish-American duo of Andre Goransson and Evan King.

[p]Both pairs came into this Third Round clash without dropping a set, though [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/goransson-andre/bkGRha3F/"]Goransson[/a] and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/king-evan/vwjbTFaf/"]King[/a] had needed tiebreaks to win three of their previous four, while second seeds [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/heliovaara-harri/OYcuApkE/"]Heliovaara[/a] and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/patten-henry/tzbx2iwG/"]Patten[/a] had shown their class, not requiring a single tiebreak so far.[/p][p]One break point for the Finnish-British pair when Goransson was serving in game four was the closest either side came to breaking serve in the first seven games, but when the Swede was serving again in game eight, successive double faults gave the opposition a huge chance.[/p][p]And with a forehand winner apiece, it's one they took, before Patten held serve in game nine to win the opening set 6-3.[/p][embed guid="80664650-30fe-4d12-87b6-7de628cd2b14" url="https://x.com/the_LTA/status/2061391717673173092" social-type="twitter" /][p]Needing a response after that setback, the underdogs couldn't have made a worse start to the second set, as Patten attacked King's serve with a series of winners that allowed another break of serve.[/p][p]The Chicago man then fended off two break points in game five, and match point in game nine, but there was no let up from the former Wimbledon and Australian Open champions, and two aces from the Brit in game 10 got him and Heliovaara over the line and through to the last eight - [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/game/tennis/goransson-a-bkGRha3F/king-e-vwjbTFaf/?mid=OvY91yp1"]6-3, 6-4[/a].[/p][p]It's the third time Heliovaara and the second time Patten has reached the Quarter-finals at Roland Garros, including together last year, but they are yet to overcome this hurdle. They will play the winner of [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/krawietz-kevin/EwLaAdNP/"]Kevin Krawietz[/a]/[a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/puetz-tim/CUhEqGYo/"]Tim Puetz[/a] vs [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/balaji-n-sriram/h69nDwTE/"]Sriram Balaji[/a]/[a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/demoliner-marcelo/nJ2qlJH6/"]Marcelo Demoliner[/a].[/p][p]For Goransson and King, their time in Paris is not over - they will meet each other in the Semi-finals of the Mixed Doubles if the Swede can win his Quarter-final tie alongside [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/routliffe-erin/CvDr9J3L/"]Erin Routliffe[/a].[/p][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/tennis/atp-doubles/french-open/"]Follow all the tournaments at Roland Garros on Flashscore.[/a][/p]
