There is a full round of Betway Premiership fixtures on Tuesday and Wednesday as some clubs look to maintain the momentum from fast starts to the season, while others seek to get out of first gear.

[p]Here are the talking points ahead of the fourth round of the campaign.[/p][p] [/p][p]Round two …[/p][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/orlando-pirates/p4SF9EMI/"]Orlando Pirates[/a] meet [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/sekhukhune/UySmgAPp/"]Sekhukhune United[/a] in the second match of a triple-header this week, sandwiched between the two legs of their MTN8 semi-final.[/p][p]Pirates drew first blood away from home with a 1-0 win in Limpopo at the weekend, with the next two games taking place in Orlando.[/p][p]The Buccaneers’ victory was a continuation of their strong start to the season, which has seen them win four of their first five games and draw the other, while Sekhukhune now have two defeats in their last three matches.[/p][p]They lost at [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/kaizer-chiefs/fFZ2CGx0/"]Kaizer Chiefs[/a] on their last road trip, but have actually been pretty decent away from home of late and were unbeaten in three (W2 D1) before that.[/p][p]Just how much the coaches shake up their line-ups remains to be seen. Sekhukhune will know they are on the cusp of a rare cup final appearance and might put all their efforts into the weekend, while Pirates are aiming for a fifth MTN8 title in a row but also know they can ill afford any slip-ups in the defence of their league title.[/p][p]The unexpected loss of [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/maswanganyi-patrick/IHV1YJN5/"]Patrick Maswanganyi[/a] following his move to Bahrain on Monday further erodes their creativity in midfield, and that is perhaps the big challenge for the coaching team this season.[/p][image alt="Betway Premiership standings" id="37416183-79b9-49cd-8f39-c2e0a27c8506" credit-line="Flashscore" guid="aacdefcf-988e-4119-b0fa-01bd178855d4" original-width="2160" original-height="2700" /][p]Win or bust[/p][p]Kaizer Chiefs’ promising start to the new league season will be tested when they travel to stubborn [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/richards-bay/noDZhkBM/"]Richards Bay[/a], who are searching for a first win of the campaign but have drawn their last two games and are tough to beat on their own patch.[/p][p]Chiefs have been happy travellers in the league, with wins in their last three matches and only a single defeat in their last nine road trips (W5 D3), which was a surprise loss at [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/siwelele/x6s5gTDd/"]Siwelele[/a] in April.[/p][p]Richards Bay are winless in their last eight games, drawing six of those, but oddly none of the previous nine meetings with Chiefs have ended all square.[/p][p]The KwaZulu-Natal side have won four of those, including on Chiefs’ last three visits, with Amakhosi taking victory in five.[/p][p]The last six meetings have been won by the home side, with the only away league victory in clashes between these teams coming for Chiefs in 2023.[/p][p]It is games like this that will test whether Chiefs can emerge as genuine title contenders this season.[/p][image alt="Betway Premiership leading scorers" id="5f5da11a-fe9d-46de-afe7-33f4aff63f48" credit-line="Flashscore" guid="a3305062-f901-4998-88e2-fde576e80e25" original-width="2160" original-height="2700" /][p]Bouncing back[/p][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/mamelodi-sundowns/lxZ6Bzh6/"]Mamelodi Sundowns[/a] suffered a rare home defeat when they lost to [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/golden-arrows/C6CjDdNg/"]Lamontville Golden Arrows[/a] in the first leg of their MTN8 semi-final at the weekend, and they now host another Durban side in [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/amazulu/4jYGJsW7/"]AmaZulu[/a] on Wednesday.[/p][p]It was a first home defeat for Sundowns since they lost a Nedbank Cup semi-final against Kaizer Chiefs in April 2025.[/p][p]Since then, they had played 34 matches in front of their own fans, winning 26 to go with eight draws, but ran out of luck this time against a resolute Golden Arrows.[/p][p]They had plenty of chances but could not finish and, while there was an element of bad luck in front of goal, credit must also go to the superb defending of Abafana Bes’thende.[/p][p]Sundowns have won their last six clashes with AmaZulu without conceding a goal, so the smart money is on them. Usuthu have not won at Sundowns since 2017.[/p][p]But they have also made a good start to the season under coach Arthur Zwane and will certainly present a challenge.[/p][infobox id="6b26ac9e-516b-44ef-ae26-248d15bdf3de" /][p]Who can score against Arrows?[/p][p]Lamontville Golden Arrows have had the best defence of any side in the top flight in recent times, having gone eight games without conceding a goal as they prepare to welcome [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/stellenbosch-fc/fJsWcA5b/"]Stellenbosch FC[/a] on Wednesday.[/p][p]Five of those clean sheets have come in games that ended 0-0. Another was a 1-0 win over Kaizer Chiefs in their MTN8 quarter-final, while they also claimed a 2-0 league victory away at [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/chippa-utd/AiZa0UPS/"]Chippa United[/a].[/p][p]The only player to score against them in their last 11 games – around 18 hours of football – is AmaZulu’s Sandile Mthethwa at the start of May.[/p][p]That is the task facing a rebuilt Stellenbosch side who look unrecognisable from recent years following an overhaul of their squad.[/p][p]It makes them something of an unknown quantity, and they have a win, a draw and a defeat in their three games so far this season, which suggests it could be a topsy-turvy campaign.[/p][p]Abafana Bes’thende are yet to be beaten at home in 2026, with their last loss on their own patch coming against AmaZulu in December last year.[/p][p]That being said, their last four home games have ended 0-0, all against opponents they might expect to beat – Siwelele, [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/polokwane-city/ADz8rR88/"]Polokwane City[/a], [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/ts-galaxy/KUDSx8jo/"]TS Galaxy[/a] and Chippa United.[/p][image alt="Betway Premiership fixtures" id="51602797-3301-45ae-986d-82538fe22530" credit-line="Flashscore" guid="790973ca-a1cc-45d0-8ffd-ec70c98d81b4" original-width="1200" original-height="1200" /][p]A first win?[/p][p]Eight teams – or half the league – have yet to pick up a win after the opening three rounds of the Betway Premiership this season, and two of them meet at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace on Tuesday.[/p][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/marumo-gallants/Gnghzo3C/"]Marumo Gallants[/a] will host TS Galaxy, with the former having lost their last two fixtures, leaving them bottom of the league with a single point and a -1 goal difference.[/p][p]Galaxy, under coach Bernard Parker, have two draws and a narrow defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns, where they led late in the game but lost a five-goal thriller.[/p][p]This match may have draw written all over it, but it would be a huge boost to either team to get a win and perhaps kick-start their season.[/p][p]Galaxy have never won away at Gallants in seven previous attempts (D4 L3), so they can make a little bit of club history.[/p][p]But their issue is that they simply do not win away very often, with a single success on the road in almost a year, which came in a cup clash at Orbit College.[/p][p]Their last away league win was also at Orbit in August 2025.[/p][infobox id="584d9683-f419-4696-8cb3-c155213092a0" /]
