Sunderland striker Brian Brobbey will miss up to one month with an injury, Black Cats manager Regis Le Bris confirmed on Thursday.

[p]The Dutch striker sustained the injury in last weekend's defeat to [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/fulham/69ZiU2Om/"]Fulham[/a] and is one of several new injuries for [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/sunderland/WSzc94ws/"]Sunderland[/a] - [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/bi-jocelin-ta/bmQQNvto/"]Jocelin Ta Bi[/a], [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/mundle-romaine/Mqq7lUk6/"]Romaine Mundle[/a], and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/mukiele-nordi/MoObMvb7/"]Nordi Mukiele[/a] are all expected to be sidelined for the foreseeable future.[/p][p]"It won't last too long," Le Bris said about Mukiele and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/brobbey-brian/pfAvgQUT/"]Brobbey[/a]. "Between two and four weeks, depending on the way they respond to the treatment and the rehab."[/p][embed guid="1c9fbd26-7df5-487d-b228-4c85456804b4" url="https://x.com/SunderlandAFC/status/2027015427906220146?s=20" social-type="twitter" /][p]Brian Brobbey was set to make his return to the Dutch national team after a year-long absence, with Oranje set to face Norway and Ecuador in next month's international break. The former Ajax striker is the latest Netherlands player to be plagued by injury after [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/de-jong-frenkie/A1F3rz9c/"]Frenkie de Jong[/a] and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/emegha-emanuel/by8Xcffd/"]Emanuel Emegha[/a].[/p]
'Might need surgery'
[p]Le Bris was less optimistic about Ta Bi and Mundle, whose injuries will sideline them for longer.[/p][p]“It might be a difficult injury,” Le Bris said of Romaine Mundle, who's appeared in 14 games for the Black Cats this season. “He might be sidelined for a few weeks or months. We still have a few more assessments to make, but we’ll have a clear picture soon. He’s experienced this injury before so it means something for him. It’s still early to say if it is exactly the same.”[/p][p]Jocelin Ta Bi, however, might need surgery, the Frenchman revealed.[/p][p]“Jocelin might be in the same position as Romaine, with a different injury. He might need surgery, so it could take weeks or months. It’s still a bit early as well.”[/p][p]Sunderland are set to face [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/bournemouth/OtpNdwrc/"]Bournemouth[/a] on [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/game/soccer/bournemouth-OtpNdwrc/sunderland-WSzc94ws/?mid=hOA1PhIN"]Saturday[/a].[/p]
