Malmo and Lulea have won their respective game three deciders in the eighth-finals of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) playoffs to reach the last eight and put an end to Orebro's and Djurgarden's campaigns.

[p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/malmo/pO1SCzgR/"]Malmo[/a] successfully completed a series turnaround against [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/djurgarden/Q7UY6Hrs/"]Djurgarden[/a], levelling it with a 2-1 home win on Thursday night before finishing the job with a [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/game/hockey/djurgarden-Q7UY6Hrs/malmo-pO1SCzgR/?mid=d2X0i56C"]3-1[/a] success on home ice.[/p][p]The Redhawks were frustrated by their opponents who managed to kill powerplays either side of the 20-minute mark, but the home side found a way through eight minutes into the second period when [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/von-barnekow-lofberg-william/zsDbdfBB/"]William von Barnekow-Lofberg[/a] scored his second goal of the eighth-finals.[/p][p]The penalties kept flowing on both sides, but it wasn't until [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/pettersen-mathias-emilio/C4QYLsKb/"]Emilio Pettersen[/a] was called for cross-checking with nine minutes to play that either side could take advantage, as [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/sundberg-axel/jmJpCIji/"]Axel Sundberg[/a] gave Malmo a crucial two-goal cushion.[/p][p]Late on, an empty-netter from [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/ikonen-joona/SIuqPXs8/"]Joona Ikonen[/a] began the Malmo celebrations, and despite [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/rensfeldt-ludvig/E9Klugjp/"]Ludvig Rensfeldt[/a]'s consolation in the dying seconds, there was no stopping Malmo progressing to the quarter-finals, where they will meet regular season title winners [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/skelleftea/8jdWygW7/"]Skelleftea[/a].[/p][embed guid="b6b9f8c3-cc0a-426a-b925-d754b55c4096" url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABglejVknOY" social-type="youtube" /][p]Reigning champions [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/lulea/0QhOwF1e/"]Lulea[/a] ensured themselves of a quarter-final place this time around by knocking out lowest seeds [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/orebro/Y3RLgQQn/"]Orebro[/a] [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/game/hockey/lulea-0QhOwF1e/orebro-Y3RLgQQn/?mid=K2mTx6iJ"]4-2[/a] at home in game three.[/p][p]Orebro bounced back from a heavy home defeat in game one with a shock 3-1 win at Lulea in game two, and a repeat of the trick was on the cards when [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/kossila-kalle/GzteoiMq/"]Kalle Kossila[/a] broke the deadlock with three minutes gone.[/p][p]But Lulea steadied their nerves with an [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/levtchi-anton/dvVa6x9C/"]Anton Levtvhi[/a] equaliser less than four minutes later, and took the lead in the 18th minute when [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/omark-linus/S6wlygb1/"]Linus Omark[/a] struck on a powerplay following high sticking from [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/berglund-filip/KvHGjd84/"]Filip Berglund[/a]. However, there was still time for two more goals in the first period.[/p][p]Lulea still had no answer to Kossila, who scored his third goal of the series to equalise, but again their response was quick, as [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/tardif-benjamin/OYQ7zNEF/"]Benjamin Tardif[/a] restored the advantage within seconds of the restart.[/p][p]After five goals in the first 20 minutes, there were none in the second, and then four minutes into period three, Lulea finally got the goal to settle the series, as Tardif struck again to round off the 4-2 victory that sends Lulea into a quarter-final series with [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/frolunda/pAG4OqEE/"]Frolunda[/a].[/p][embed guid="208a5364-6d6e-4f1a-a392-3f17af7a169a" url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uq7pDbMq6UI" social-type="youtube" /][p]The Skelleftea vs Malmo and Frolunda vs Lulea quarter-final series begin on Monday 23rd March, with game one of [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/rogle/j5ve8f1r/"]Rogle[/a] vs [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/farjestad/4b1TBPb8/"]Farjestad[/a] and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/vaxjo/hzXCSnCE/"]Vaxjo[/a] vs [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/brynas/MZgKvenk/"]Brynas[/a] getting underway on Tuesday 24th March.[/p][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/hockey/sweden/shl/"]Follow every match of the SHL Playoffs on Flashscore.[/a][/p]
