A busy but successful day at the 2026 French Open for Sweden's Andre Goransson saw him progress in the Second Round of the Men's Doubles alongside Evan King, before progressing through the same stage of the Mixed Doubles with his playing partner Erin Routliffe.

[p]First up for [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/goransson-andre/bkGRha3F/"]Goransson[/a] was the Men's Doubles with [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/king-evan/vwjbTFaf/"]King[/a], up against [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/hidalgo-diego/EmIGQw12/"]Diego Hidalgo[/a] and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/trhac-patrik/fP6WABo4/"]Patrik Trhac[/a]. Despite multiple break points for either pair during the first set, they were all successfully defended, taking it to a tiebreak. [/p][p]A loss of serve with the first point from the Ecuadorian-American duo gave Goransson and King the momentum, taking a 3-0 and then 5-2 lead, before two more breaks saw them win the tiebreak 7-2 and the first set, 7-6.[/p][p]With another match later in the day, the bad news for the Swede was the second set also went the distance, but the good news was it was another win for him and King, as once again neither pair could force a break of serve despite plenty of opportunities.[/p][p]This time, both sides were losing serve in the tiebreak, but Goransson and King did enough to win, securing victory with their second match point, 7-4 in the tiebreak and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/game/tennis/goransson-a-bkGRha3F/king-e-vwjbTFaf/?mid=dEVCTOdL"]7-6, 7-6[/a] in the match. In the Third Round, they will face number two seeds [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/heliovaara-harri/OYcuApkE/"]Harri Heliovaara[/a] and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/patten-henry/tzbx2iwG/"]Henry Patten[/a].[/p][embed guid="22508716-3cd3-4960-8194-9462746b042c" url="https://x.com/sportshbomaxse/status/2060747668222054901" social-type="twitter" /][p]Knocking out number two seeds is something Goransson has already done at Roland Garros this week, alongside [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/routliffe-erin/CvDr9J3L/"]Erin Routliff[/a] in the First Round of the Mixed Doubles, and the Swedish-New Zealander pair are now through to Round 3 after defeating French pair [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/blancaneaux-geoffrey/EFwAtztn/"]Geoffrey Blancaneaux[/a] and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/jeanjean-leolia/EDBO32wT/"]Leolia Jeanjean[/a].[/p][p]Goransson and Routliff made a crucial breakthrough in the ninth game of the opening set, taking a 5-4 lead before making that 6-4 having come under some early pressure from the wildcards. The second set was more straightforward, forcing breaks in games three and seven before securing victory with their first match point. The [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/game/tennis/blancaneaux-g-EFwAtztn/jeanjean-l-EDBO32wT/?mid=8GBwnTGP"]6-4, 6-2[/a] win means they will face [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/muhammad-asia/tnWEOb3b/"]Asia Muhammad[/a] and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/mektic-nikola/zeaASGsD/"]Nikola Mektic[/a] in the Third Round.[/p][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/tennis/atp-doubles/french-open/"]Follow every competition at the 2026 French Open on Flashscore.[/a][/p]
