Paris Saint-Germain’s six-game winning run in all competitions came to an end as they were beaten 2-1 by Olympique Lyonnais at the Parc des Princes, a result which breathes life back into the Ligue 1 title race.

[p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/psg/CjhkPw0k/"]PSG[/a] came into this clash on the back of their progression to the UEFA Champions League (UCL) semi-finals, having not played in Ligue 1 last week in preparation for their midweek clash with [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/liverpool/lId4TMwf/"]Liverpool[/a].[/p][p]As such, they may have been feeling a bit rusty as they returned to domestic duties, as they found themselves two goals down inside 20 minutes.[/p][p]In fact, less than 10 minutes were on the clock when [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/endrick/bXHrpEJ4/"]Endrick[/a] netted his fourth league goal since joining on loan from [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/real-madrid/W8mj7MDD/"]Real Madrid[/a] in January, smashing in off the post from inside the area.[/p][embed guid="520bafe2-b917-44c5-b3c4-7b4022d36df4" url="https://x.com/Ligue1_ENG/status/2045954321292857536" social-type="twitter" /][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/abner-vinicius/fcH6s6Fc/"]Abner Vinícius[/a] was then denied when [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/safonov-matvey/zJF3W9Rq/"]Matvéi Safonov[/a] pushed his acrobatic overhead kick over the bar, but that was only a temporary reprieve for the hosts before they dropped further behind.[/p][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/lyon/2akflumR/"]Lyon[/a] broke quickly from a PSG corner through [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/moreira-afonso/OQmjjuCG/"]Afonso Moreira[/a], who kept his cool to slot into the bottom corner.[/p][embed guid="9056b3df-3a49-4ee0-8fbc-310e627cb8a3" url="https://x.com/Ligue1_ENG/status/2045952415740965280" social-type="twitter" /][p]The hosts had to respond and, after [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/ramos-goncalo/xfW2M1Tt/"]Gonçalo Ramos[/a] directed a weak header into the hands of [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/greif-dominik/ID9k7lap/"]Dominik Greif[/a], Les Parisiens had a fantastic chance to pull one back when [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/maitland-niles-ainsley/CnBQp2sj/"]Ainsley Maitland-Niles[/a] was adjudged to have pushed [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/hernandez-lucas/x2fvnkud/"]Lucas Hernández[/a] over in the area.[/p][p]However, from the resulting spot-kick, Ramos could not beat Greif in a huge let-off for Les Gones. On the brink of half time, [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/lucas-beraldo/Y1UU1rz7/"]Lucas Beraldo[/a] headed over the bar as PSG went back to the dressing room with a mountain to climb.[/p][p]After the restart, Lyon continued to threaten, with Moreira and Endrick forcing important saves from Safonov.[/p][p]In an attempt to give his side extra impetus, Luis Enrique brought on [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/kvaratskhelia-khvicha/bNuGt0hE/"]Khvicha Kvaratskhelia[/a] and, while the Georgia international did test Greif and then headed wide shortly after his introduction, the change did not have the desired impact.[/p][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/dembele-ousmane/zsMC2Ec0/"]Ousmane Dembélé[/a] was another second-half substitute, and he went closer than any of his teammates after the interval when he curled against the crossbar with Greif rooted to the spot.[/p][image alt="Match stats" id="5bdc4e4b-2753-4381-a8f7-209fd4b99245" credit-line="Opta by StatsPerform" guid="19bca4d8-d93d-4797-a39c-e19684507750" original-width="1080" original-height="1080" /][p]Kvaratskhelia pulled a goal back with a fantastic strike from the edge of the area that went in off the post, but ultimately, Enrique’s decision to rest a number of his star players backfired as his team were unable to recover from Lyon’s early blitz. [/p][p]The result means the reigning champions are just one point above [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/lens/IBmris38/"]RC Lens[/a] in the table and, while they do have a game in hand still to come, their rearranged fixture with their closest challengers could prove to be vital in deciding where the title goes.[/p][p]Meanwhile, after a six-game winless run threatened to end their UCL qualification hopes, back-to-back victories have moved Lyon back up to third and with their fate back in their own hands.[/p][p]Flashscore Man of the Match: [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/moreira-afonso/OQmjjuCG/"]Afonso Moreira[/a] ([a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/lyon/2akflumR/"]Olympique Lyonnais[/a])[/p][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/game/soccer/lyon-2akflumR/psg-CjhkPw0k/?mid=hdxneYTs"]Check out all the match stats with Flashscore[/a][/p]
