FC Midtjylland unveiled Rasmus Kristensen on Tuesday, with the former Eintracht Frankfurt player signing a five-year contract with the club that launched his impressive career. At the press conference, Kristensen told Flashscore that one of the reasons for returning home to his native country is that the Danish Superliga has developed immensely since he left for Ajax in 2018.

[p]"As I have seen from the outside, it's a league that has developed immensely, so there is definitely more money in the league and better players compared to when I left. There is significantly more competition at the top of the table. [/p][p]"At the same time, more clubs are competing in Europe and doing well. So in total, I think that the league has improved quite a lot, which is also one of the reasons why I decided to return home," Kristensen told Flashscore.[/p][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/kristensen-rasmus/Ii8pjsY2/"]Kristensen[/a] said further to the general Danish media at the press conference that he has been in steady contact with [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/midtjylland/8GZDmdbB/"]FC Midtjylland[/a] ever since the start of the new year.[/p][p]"On the other side of the new year, I started considering it with my family, and during the spring it became more and more clear to me that this is what we need, and this is what I would like the most," he explained.[/p][embed guid="bf362df2-647b-4de9-82b3-b5ead7624791" url="https://x.com/fcmidtjylland/status/2071858458735841676" social-type="twitter" /][p]FC Midtjylland's CEO Claus Steinlein wore a pair of colourful Gucci shoes at the press conference. Kristensen went through the FC Midtjylland academy as he launched a career that has seen him play for esteemed clubs like Ajax, Leeds, Red Bull Salzburg, and AS Roma, spending eight years abroad.[/p][p]Steinlein notes that Kristensen is moving back to Denmark two years before he was eligible for a tax discount in Denmark.[/p][embed guid="8de5c8e4-9306-45ef-b335-ed346a9ec8c5" url="https://x.com/Eintracht/status/2071859063411843498" social-type="twitter" /][p]"When we talk about money, this deal was only possible because [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/eintracht-frankfurt/8vndvXTk/"]Frankfurt[/a] was willing to look into it," says Steinlein.[/p][p]"At the same time, it was part of the deal that FC Midtjylland's under-19 player [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/pimpong-malik/vmL2eEen/"]Malik Pimpong[/a] moved to Frankfurt."[/p][p]The Danish Superliga starts the new season on July 24th.
